The Gwaii Trust is an Islands’ trust fund. A large portion of the interest earned from investment of the trust is disbursed to the people of Haida Gwaii through a variety of programs.

The Gwaii Forest Society was founded to contribute to the long-term sustainability of forest resources on Haida Gwaii and to support community stability through adjustment to changes in the forest economy. A nine-member board of directors is responsible for the overall policies and practices of the Gwaii Forest Society.
