CFI Crew Technician/Leader (3 positions)

The CFI Crew Leader is responsible for conducting and supervising cultural field surveys with relation to Haida Land Values, Archaeology, and Forest Ecology as it relates to Haida Culture, the Land Use Objectives Order, and Cultural Feature Identification Standards.

CFI Crew Technician (8 positions)

The CFI Crew Technician (certified) is responsible for conducting cultural field surveys with relation to Haida Land Values, Archaeology, and Forest Ecology as it relates to Haida Culture, the Land Use Objectives Order, and Cultural Feature Identification Standards.

Crew Coordinator/Cook (2 or 3 positions)

The Camp Coordinator is responsible for Coordination of CFI crews, assessing equipment needs, knowledge of safety procedures for remote locations, providing meals including breakfast lunch and dinner, general maintenance of the camp including but not limited to washing of dishes, cleaning up garbage, providing firewood for camp. They must have the ability and experience to run a boat and must complete food and supplies orders during crew switchover.  Training, both workshop and on-the-job, is provided periodically and is a requirement.

Protected Areas Operations Supervisor

The Protected Areas Operations Supervisor is responsible for conducting and facilitating cultural field surveys, data management and reporting out on Haida Land Values, Archaeology, and Forest Ecology in protected areas where projects are proposed. Reports will examine projects and identify considerations in relation to Haida culture, the Land Use Order Objectives, and Cultural Feature Identification Standards.

CFI Auditor – Seasonal

The Cultural Feature Identification (CFI) Auditor is accountable and responsible for working with the HNRD Resource Management Advisor and other staff to conduct CFI Audits, CFI Surveys, effectiveness monitoring and implementation of the Haida Gwaii Land Use Objectives Order (HGLUOO). The Auditor may also be called on to participate with BC Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development (FLNRORD) Haida Gwaii Natural Resource District on the provincial Forest and Range Evaluation Program (FREP).
