DESCRIPTION

The writer will produce content for the Haida Laas and other CHN media channels at the direction and with support of the Managing Editor and Director. The writer will research, investigate, and interview to generate material that will assist in the discussion of issues related to citizens. The Writer will have an interest in translation technical language into stories for a broader audience.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Create content and contribute to content development
• Attend and cover CHN events as needed
• Take photos
• Detail oriented, capacity to build relationships, work in a team and adapt to change with creativity
• Contribute written and visual content to special projects as required
• Maintain Collaborative and cooperative relationships with staff

Skills, Abilities and Experience

• Interest in Haida politics and culture
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Technology literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office, PC, and Mac
• Capacity to build relationships and work effectively and adapt to changing environment
• Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
• Class 5 driver’s License
• Must be willing to travel and attend public events as required
