$1100 for 4-day contract, includes training, logistics, advance poll and election day.

Description:
The Poll Clerk assists in the smooth operation of a polling station during an election. They work under the supervision of the Regional Electoral Officer (REO) and ensure that voters are processed efficiently and in accordance with election procedures.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow election laws and procedures.
- Ability to work in a non-partisan manner.
- Basic computer skills (if electronic systems are used).
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
Voter Verification:
- Greet voters and verify their identification and eligibility to vote.
- Confirm that each voter is on the electoral roll (voter list) or assist with registration as needed.
Record Keeping:
- Accurately record voter information, including their name, address, and voter number.
- Maintain an organized log of voter attendance to prevent double voting.
Ballot Distribution:
- Hand out ballots to voters after confirming their eligibility.
- Provide instructions on how to properly mark and submit the ballot.
Assistance to Voters:
- Direct voters to the appropriate voting booths and ensure a smooth flow of voters at the polling station.
Maintaining Order:
- Help maintain an orderly and safe environment at the polling station.
- Assist in resolving any issues or confusion that may arise throughout the voting process.
Closing the Polls:
- At the end of the voting period, assist the REO in counting ballots and organizing election materials for submission.
- Help clean up and secure the polling station.
Other tasks as assigned by the Regional Electoral Officer (REO).
Working Conditions:
Hours and Environment:
- Long workdays, typically 15 hours, starting early and ending late.
- Meal breaks are provided, but Poll Clerks need to stay on site.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing for long periods and lifting to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable footwear is recommended.
