Commercial Fishing Opportunity

The Secretariat of the Haida Nation has the following commercial opportunities for the 2018 commercial fishing season.  Interested parties are required to contact the CHN Offices in Skidegate or Old Massett for further information.

Ground Fish  

• 3 coast wide halibut (FL) licenses ( 66’ to 79’ 5”)
• One coast wide sablefish (FK) license (49’11”)

PELAGICS 

• One Herring seine (FHS)  license
• Two Herring Gillnet (FH) licenses

Shellfish

• One Area A crab (FR) license (37’1”)

The SHN-FC has used the following priorities last year: Haida owned & operated vessel, Haida skipper & Haida crew; Haida spouse owned & operated, Haida spouse skipper & Haida crew, Haida Gwaii residents given preference over off-island residents.  Preference is given to applicants that are able to sell (not custom offload) product to Haida Wild.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS:  Friday, January 19, 2018 at 4 pm

Incomplete applications will not be considered and copies of required documents must be submitted with applications.
