Kahsennehawe Sky-Deer is a Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk) business leader, former politician, athlete and strategist from the community of Kahnawà:ke near Tiohtià:ke (Montreal). The first woman and person identifying as Two-Spirit to be elected Grand Chief of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (in 2021), she has spent over a decade driving transformative agreements and relationships positioning First Nations as key players in the economic future on the East coast. Kahsennehawe also grew up speaking her language, and is a fluent speaker of Kanien’kehá:.
