PUBLIC NOTICE: K̲’uuna K̲’iidaay Louise Narrows

Between August 9-12, local contractors Silva Services excavated the impacted portion of K̲’uuna K̲’iidaay Louise Narrows. Navigation through K̲’uuna K̲’iidaay had been impacted by erosion earlier this year. Local tour operators and other user groups reported the concern to CHN and Gwaii Haanas and collaborated on finding a timely solution. We are happy to announce that this work is complete, and the depth and width of K̲’uuna K̲’iidaay are similar to pre-disturbance.

CHN will continue to monitor and address the natural erosion impacting navigability of this important passage for boaters in the area.
