“Néedan Gawée Naden Harbour has always been a significant place for the Haida Nation. The bounty and the beauty of the area is awe inspiring and has provided an important food source for Haida communities for thousands of years and has been enjoyed by all who have had the fortune to visit. The CHN would like to acknowledge Paul Clough and the QCL team for their respectful approach working together to help make it possible for the Haida to obtain a high-class facility that will allow us to reconnect with Naden Harbour. We are excited for the future opportunities this agreement unlocks for the Haida Nation based on the engagement with Haida citizens.” – Gaagwiis Jason Alsop, President of the Haida Nation
“QCL has been a proud member of the Haida Gwaii community for more than 30 years and we will always hold Haida Gwaii and its people close to our hearts. We have worked together with CHN in a mutually respectful way to transition the QCL property to the Haida people under our Agreement. We join with CHN to acknowledge and thank those who have worked together and value the knowledge we have each gained and shared on this journey.” – Paul Clough, President of QCL.
