Haida Gwaii Archeological Sites: Call Before You Dig

Any work that involves ground-altering activity may require the presence of an

archaeologist and/or an archaeological monitor to ensure that any cultural

material and artifacts are identified and protected.

Archaeological sites on Haida Gwaii, whether previously identified or not, are

protected under Haida Nation and Province of British Columbia law.

Before you dig, please call or email the

Council of the Haida Nation Heritage and Natural Resources Department at 250-626-5252 or Skidegate office at 250-559-4468 (ext 208).
